Kudrin: Russia must improve foreign relations to reach GDP target

MOSCOW, Jan 16 (PRIME) -- Russia needs to improve relations with other countries to speed up gross domestic product (GDP) growth, head of the Audit Chamber Alexei Kudrin said during the Gaidar Forum on Wednesday.

He said that domestic demand alone cannot push GDP 3% up, and only higher non-raw material exports can drive the GDP rise to a global average of 3.5%.

“We need to improve relations with other countries to solve the issue of access to global markets, receive technologies from there and send the ready product, build added-value chains. We need a more favorable world order and we must strive for it and help it. We must understand that without this, among other things, the goals of our domestic economic growth are beyond reach,” Kudrin said.
